28.01.2011: German crash statistics 2010 released - record reduction of crash fatalities!

Crash fatalities in Germany are on a record low! In 2010, 3.651 fatalities were registered, the lowest number since more than 60 years. Anyway, the main cause of crashes remains “speeding”, especially when the more severe and fatal crashes are regarded. Crashes due to alcohol impaired driving were also reported to decrease by 12% but remaining a significant cause of fatal crashes.
